Try and Try Again

Well, I didn’t quite finish my goal for last month. Almost, but not quite. It’ll keep a bit longer ... this month I turn my attention back to this t-shirt quilt that keeps getting sidelined for other squirrels.

PQ 10.6--Craving Chocolate

This week I spent working on the final challenge for Project Quilting this year.  I'm happy with the way my little mini turned out!  I'm especially pleased that all my projects came from my scrap bins!!

PQ 10.5–Sweet Dreams

This weeks challenge was a fun one!  I love words and I’m always getting punny jokes from Sarah. When Moda first released their Spell It! alphabet, I downloaded it all and played with ideas. Then when Lori Holt published Spelling Bee, that was even better with upper and lowercase possibilities.

OMG—Words for March

This month I was inspired to pull out my Words to Live By quilt.  Moda’s latest challenge stems from their Spell It! alphabet. It originally debuted several years ago and there are lots of gorgeous versions for inspiration.

OMG--Another WIP Done!

Whew!  I'm SO happy to have this finished.  It's literally been hanging in my sewing area since 2011.  8 years!  Really since before I learned how to quilt.  How did I let it sit for that long?!?

PQ 10.4--A Little Pixelated

This week's challenge was just that for me.  I struggled a bit with what I wanted to do.  It went through several permutations before I started piecing.

PQ 10.3--A Nice Set

Once again coming from the trying-to-snow Willamette Valley.  I had several ideas for this Bigger Than a Breadbox Challenge.  It's funny how a minimal size restriction also seemed to restrict my thinking outside the box.

Hand Piecing HSTs--Block 2

I'm having fun piecing along with Elm Street Quilts and Simple Handmade Everyday!  I'm not quite sure what I was thinking when I decided to make the blocks 12" instead of 6".  Takes a little longer, but I'm definitely getting in lots of practice.

One Monthly Goal—February

This year for me is about finishing projects that have been languishing in piles around my sewing room. In addition to participating in the hand piecing quilt along and project quilting (my only two new projects) I am focusing on reducing my piles where projects are carefully set aside when I get squirreled.

OMG--2 of 6

Yay!  I finished my January goal.  I am absolutely floored with how many little pieces I'm actually dealing with.  I mean, I knew.  But taking the time to press each one and then seeing them stacked up so neatly really brought it home.  It's gonna be quite a task to get it all back together.

A Little Hand Piecing

I’ve been looking forward to this quilt along with Elm Street Quilts and Simply Everyday Handmade since they announced it a few weeks ago.

Project Quilting 10,.2: Red, White & Blue

I was very excited for this week's challenge.  RWB is one of my most favorite combinations and Iove the patriotic reminder that comes with it.

Project Quilting--Hope Springs Eternal

I was excited to see the first prompt for this year's Project Quilting challenge.  It is one of the few times I've had an idea right away.  Last week I went to Los Angeles with Sarah for the annual IMTA Convention.  There she competed in several acting and modeling categories hoping to catch the attention of talent managers and agents =) We had so much fun!

One Monthly Goal—January

I'm working on getting back in the saddle this year.  I missed my OMG most of last year!  The first week of this month I'm out of town with my Sarah, so I really only have 3 weeks to work on this month's focus goal.
