PQ 10.3--A Nice Set

Once again coming from the trying-to-snow Willamette Valley.  I had several ideas for this Bigger Than a Breadbox Challenge.  It's funny how a minimal size restriction also seemed to restrict my thinking outside the box.

I realized about Wednesday that I had a project that I had just bought fabric for that would have fit the bill, but I was thinking "mini" so overlooked it since it's a baby-sized project.  Oh, well!  It's still there.  I'll get to it soon, hopefully =)

I've had these placemats on my to-do list for quite some time.  I went through my stash and found a charm pack and yardage from Badda Bing and decided the picnic-y feel was just what I wanted.  One pack makes a set of 4 and they came together by Sunday evening.  Woot!

Using some shirting scraps from my sewing stash for the backing, I had them quilted and trimmed by Tuesday evening ... and there they languished until yesterday.  I also found some solid red that was just enough to bind them all in my leftovers box.  I love using what I already have!

Each one finishes at 17-1/2" x 12-1/2".  These are just perfect to keep on the table and hopefully encourage the kiddos to keep it cleared off.  Linked up here as #102.
