It's a Sister Thing!

Last month I signed up for my first swap and today I got my new sister.  SSssshhhh!  I was stoked to try this because I grew up in a family of all girls--there were five of us.  I love all my sisters and always look forward to spending time with them and their kids.  Even though we're spread all across the country, we're still close and try to keep up with each other.

I get to spend a couple of months keeping tabs on my new sis and coming up with a fun care package.  I'm excited, but that also means someone out there is stalking me, too.  I'd better get posting ...

The last couple of weeks I've been working on a couple of projects.  This first one is for the quilt along with Judy at Green Fairy Quilts.

I converted the pattern to a couple of Mill Book Circa 1835 dessert rolls that I had just got and it's turning out amazing.

        

My youngest sister is also having her first baby at the end of July, so I've been busy putting together a baby blanket for her.  I got the pattern from a YouTube video made by Missouri Star Quilt Company and I love it.  I didn't use a jelly roll because I didn't have one in the right colors.  I used a couple of Country Living fat quarter bundles from Sew Lux Fabric.

        

And just to keep things real, here are a couple of snapshots of the current state of my sewing hole :)  I'm trying to fit sewing into every free moment since later this summer I'll be flying back east to help my parents move across country.  I'm so happy that they'll be closer, but sad for moving from the house I grew up in.
