Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!!  I hope everyone is enjoying a blessed day and feels the warmth and gratitude of the holiday.

Since I started cooking Thanksgiving dinner on my own about 15 years ago, I've really enjoyed losing myself in preparing an all-out dinner.  I usually cook enough for two or three families, but I really enjoy everything from the planning to the leftovers.  This year Rhett convinced me to order a catered meal from the culinary arts program at the Youth Services Center.  It cost about as much as I spend on groceries every year and I'll supplement it with a few family favorites.

This has given me a low stress day today to get caught up on a number of projects--including checking in here.  Although I've been pretty much off the blogging grid, I have been spending most of my time trying to keep up with the family, with a few stolen moments for small projects.

This year has been full of ups and downs, but through it all I truly have so much to be thankful for.  Aside from the seasonally obvious--family, home and loved ones, I am so grateful for having found my passion at the sewing machine.  The creative and emotional release I get from playing with the fabrics, sewing beautiful designs and learning new techniques has been a lifesaver.  I thought I'd share some pics of recent projects that I haven't blogged about yet.  Enjoy the sneak peaks!

Thank YOU for stopping by!

  1. Catered and less work sounds great. I hope you enjoyed every morsel of it and I can't wait to see more of what you've been up to.
