One Monthly Goal—January

I'm working on getting back in the saddle this year.  I missed my OMG most of last year!  The first week of this month I'm out of town with my Sarah, so I really only have 3 weeks to work on this month's focus goal.

One of my ongoing projects is deconstructing these Lonestar sections. They were given to me a couple of summers ago by my grandma. She was cleaning out her cedar chest and found several unfinished projects from her grandmother. No one knows why she didn't finish them. Some are hand-pieced and some are machine pieced.

Anyway, when I laid out the pieces of the Lone Star I could see that they were different sizes. The seam allowances are not consistent and the points mostly don't match up, so I decided to deconstruct before doing them over.

This month I will finish deconstructing the second section and press all the pieces from the first two sections.

Linking up here as #130.

  1. How cool to work on something from one of your great great grandmother (?). Can't wait to see it when you've finished.

  3. That looks like it's going to be a lot of work but it will be so very special once it is finished.
