Another Busy Week ...

This past week was the first week all year when I've had a truly busy subbing schedule.  Usually I get 4 or 5 days each month; this week I got to work all 5 days and be in 4 different classrooms at 3 different schools.  I really did enjoy it, though.  Added to that, Sam started driver's ed 2 nights each week for the next 8 weeks.  I literally got home from school, threw dinner together, then ran back out to various activities 3 of my 5 evenings.  Friday evening when I tried to slow down a little and take some time for me, things got a bit hairy, but I forced myself to enjoy an hour outside the house.

Swooning for Solids

Welcome to my contribution for the Kona Blog Hop.  I've been excited about this project since I signed up.

Many, many thanks to Madam Samm, our fearless leader who shares her love by organizing these amazing sharing opportunities.  Thanks also to Robert Kauffman, Amanda Murphy and Aurafil who have sponsored us this time around.  But biggest kudos go to Carol, who has been our tireless cheerleader for this hop.  She is great at communication, is filled with patience and and has been truly understanding and flexible.

Payin' It Forward

I did this last year with my Facebook friends, then I saw today one of my Hive#2-mates over at Stash Bee is doing this ... so here's the offer.  I've seen baked goodies, quilty bags, home decor, and other items exchanged.  I'll even consider requests ... depending on how "realistic" you are :)  Let's have some fun!

PS ... Last Finish of 2013

A while ago, Rhett asked me to make a quilt for him.  I've had some trouble deciding what to do because he doesn't like busy patterns and does like plain colors.  Not a fun combo for me to work with :)  I know I'll get to it soon, but it certainly wasn't going to happen before Christmas. So, I went looking for Plan B.

ALYOF--January Goal

I struggled with this decision a bit longer than I should have.  Last month when I took my sewing machine in for servicing, I was able to clean and organize.  One of the things I did was make a list of projects-in-progress.  Just from the various stacks on my desks, I made a list of 17 projects.  That doesn't count the bins of projects awaiting further love.  Haven't counted the projects in there, but I would guess that would add 5 to 10 more to that list.

Happy New Year!

It's so exciting to start a new year with you!  I've been updating my blog--not just the look.  Over the next couple of days I'll finish updating my tabbed pages and I'd also like to streamline my labels.  Since I didn't post too much last year, this shouldn't be too hard.

In addition to changing my look a little, I've also been reviewing old posts and setting a few goals for this year, too.  For some reason I don't seem to be able to get into a rhythm of regular blog posts.  I'm not sure why, but I'm going to experiment with that a little bit this year.  I'm also joining a couple of groups that will help keep me accountable to my various goals.
